A editor of PSM3 magazine apparently used the exclusive record function of the Playstation 3 version of Just Cause 2 and this one minute footage has showed up on YouTube. This probably wasn't their intention, as the original video has now been made private. Fortunately, someone from Panauisland.com has mirrored the footage, and the batch of quick but pure - as never seen before - gameplay is definitely worth a look. The message also includes a sandy screenshot from the upcoming demo of Just Cause 2.

Heroes of Newerth (Heroes of Newerth) Heroes of Newerth (Heroes of Newerth)
02/16/2010
Heroes of Newerth is a DotA clone of S2 Games, and must be against League of Legends (LoL), which was created in cooperation between the DotA-Mapper and Valve to maintain. HoN make things right. It was not a hero 1to1 copy of DotA, but every hero, at least in appearance, but mostly in his spells (abilities that are unique to each hero and used in battles) are changed. Meanwhile, S2 Games also did not hesitate to frighten, to create their own hero, which can be integrated perfectly into the game. On the game concept in general has not changed, but there are different maps to choose from that provide variety. A big plus in comparison with DotA is certainly the better graphics and faster gameplay that makes the battles more action-heavy, at first, but is still getting used to. Technically HoN offers what you want, many DotA player: the ability to re-join a disconnect in the current game, the ability to open games in the server browser sort by different criteria, and the possibility of the player through many disconnects negative attention, should be excluded from the game, are just some of the many improvements in technology, the DotA been denied by the dependence of the WarCraft3 engine. When DotA player for many years I made the leap to HoN and do not regret it. Although I play for nostalgia reasons, and still like a game of DotA, most of my time I spend with HoN. The game is still in the beta phase, however, is nearing release. There are already integrated all the heroes in the game, the initial lags are long history and through regular updates, the game is getting more gebalanced. A point system (PSR, there are points for the victory in a game and get one for a loss shall be deducted points) also for sound team, as it is possible to balance the teams based on points. So who has the opportunity to get a beta key, which should look at HoN at least once! A good alternative to DotA, or LoL...

Yoshinori Kitase: Cut Final Fantasy XIII... Yoshinori Kitase: Cut Final Fantasy XIII content will not return as DLC (Final Fantasy XIII)
02/16/2010
Joystiq: That "entire game's worth" of content that was reported to have been cut from Final Fantasy XIII? Well, don't expect it to return in the form of DLC for the game. Speaking with Joystiq, FFXIII producer Yoshihiro Kitase said of the trimmed elements, "There wasn't all this other stuff that we wanted to include but had to cut. It was more of a selective process you'd find in any development process, where there were a lot of ideas but then we chose the best of those to include in the final game. The things that were cut either didn't make sense in the storyline, would slow down the pace of the game or were otherwise unnecessary." Kitase wanted to stress his "final word" on topic, telling us, "There is no plan for these things that were cut -- because they weren't essential to the game -- to be revived as downloadable content," laughing as he remarked that he wouldn't want to add back in the stuff he didn't think should be in there in the first place. We're cool with that, as long as they didn't cut out a "Meanwhile ..." segment that just happened to be a remake of Final Fantasy VII in its entirety.

World of WarCrafts spotlights art and creativity by WoW players, including fan art, cooking, comics, cosplay, music and fan fiction. Show us how you express yourself; contact our tips line (attention: World of WarCrafts) with your not-for-profit, WoW-inspired creations. It's another week of catch-up this week, as we pull out the older submissions we didn't have the opportunity to feature in 2009. First up: digital art of Illidan Stormrage, a school project from l1onh3art of DeviantArt . We were completely taken in by the realism -- we thought it was a sculpture at first, too -- but the work is actually done with a digital tool called ZBrush . We can safely say that while this may not be an actual bust, it's definitely no "bust" when it comes to creativity! ITT: Guy is angry about WoW and STO ITT: Guy is angry about WoW and STO
02/15/2010
What's up ladies and gentleman, it's me Francis. Making its round on Digg this weekend was this fantastic video of a guy angry over how hard the "new Crimson Hall in Icecrown Citadel" is, and how terrible Star Trek Online is. But don't worry, he's ready to quit WoW and go play STO . While the video is funny in its own right (in that odd sort of way), what really brings it home for me is the picture of a Princess Leia in the background, surrounded by Magic: The Gathering cards. At first I though to myself, "Is this our own recently M:TG obsessed Matt Low ?" But then I remembered that he's doesn't wear glasses, and his name isn't Francis. Phew! And don't worry Francis, someone from Blizzard will hear this. The above video is moderately NSFW . 02/15/2010
Blood Pact is your weekly warlock digest brought to you by Dominic Hobbs . "Did they look like psychos? Is that what they looked like? They were vampires. Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a damn how crazy they are!" ~ Seth Gecko So there you are, raiding your way through Icecrown Citadel , merrily destroying everything in your path with shadow and flame, when all of a sudden your raid leader tells you that you're tanking the next boss. "That can't be right - surely" you think to yourself, "I'm still wearing this dress, I don't have a sword or shield, I don't feel any more stupid than before - why would I suddenly want to tank anything?". Well, Blood Prince Council is one of those special fights where a clothie can do the job of a meat-shield. When this is called for, there's simply no better clothie than a warlock to get the job done. So, step up and lets look at how to do it. Insider Trader: Just the tip Insider Trader: Just the tip
02/15/2010
So, there you are. You stand near your faction's favorite commerce hub . You're hawking your enchanting skills over the Trade channel, doing your very best to get pick up a few customers in between rapid fire Saurfang jokes and not-so-sly murloc references. Then, finally you see these words: "LF Enchanter for Greater Assault , have mats. Will tip." You drop the person a quick whisper, group up to make it a little easier to find them, and then enchant their bracers with that sweet, sweet attack power. They thank you and place the tip in a trade window . . . 2 gold. Before you can even blink, the person breaks group, and logs out. It could be worse -- sometimes, you feel like you're lucky to get even 1 gold for your time. Especially with the Dungeon Finder making gathering enchanting materials easier for everyone, craftsmen are finding themselves struggling to earn cash via the old tipping method. After all, enchanters are no longer the single-flow hub of getting enchanting reagents. And while enchanters are the long-traditional tipped craftsmen, Jewelcrafters, Inscription practitioners, and just about all professions are in the same boat. How do you get tips? How do you handle the tips? What goes into a tip? Let's take a look behind the jump and start breaking down the ancient art of supplying tips. The Queue: In which solidarity is shown The Queue: In which solidarity is shown
02/15/2010
Welcome back to The Queue , WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today. Fellow fatty Kevin Smith (we're part of a super exclusive club) was kicked off a Southwest Airlines plane this weekend. And while it has absolutely nothing to do with WoW , it certainly made me stop and cringe for a moment at the prospect of getting kicked off the plane as I'm on my way to BlizzCon . Of course I could take preventative measures to combat this inevitable passenger-eject-button-pushing, but I'm too busy eating my Pepperoni Pizza for breakfast, which is far better than Alex's Hawaiian Pizza. Nomnomnom. Ben asked... " Do you think the tension in Cataclysm will possibly lead to World of Warcraft: The Fourth War? It could be a very PVP centric expansion, with raid content involving major battles in war, lots of new battle grounds, y'know, the works ." WoW Moviewatch: Boomdeyada WoW WoW Moviewatch: Boomdeyada WoW
02/15/2010
Irdeen Productions created Boomdyada for the Blizzard Rise to Power contest. While the contest version of the movie is a little different, this final machinima is the one that Irdeen released to the world. The song and video is obviously inspired by the Discovery.com The World is Just Awesome series. This video is just awesome. I don't have the words for how happy it makes me. In the same way that Discovery.com's original advertisements somehow instills a sense of awe and wonder in the audience, Irdeen has done exactly the same thing for Azeroth. Featuring dozens of cameos and landscapes, Irdeen has managed to convey excitement and appreciation for everything World of Warcraft . (For those with a sharp eye and ear, that is in fact an Oxhorn cameo also.) The voice actors include such well known machinima stars as Jesse Cox and Matt Geenburg. Irdeen Productions should absolutely be proud of this video. It's got to become a favorite of many WoW fans, and I hope we see more like it when Cataclysm comes around. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch ! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Officers' Quarters: Super PUG showdown Officers' Quarters: Super PUG showdown
02/15/2010
Every Monday Scott Andrews contributes Officers' Quarters , a column about the ins and outs of guild leadership. These days, even smaller guilds want to -- and can! -- run 25-player raids through guild alliances and PUGs. ToC was easily puggable , particularly since it was a short, simple run that could be completed in about 90 minutes or less for most groups. ICC is proving to be more difficult. And, of course, it's far longer and more intricate than ToC. Even so, the early bosses can all be mastered by a competent PUG. This week's e-mail deals with an extremely successful and long-standing PUG whose leader suddenly wants to change the way it works. Hi Scott, Some real life friends and I are a part of what I think of as a "Super PUG." We're in a group of about 30 people spread among six guilds who raid together every week. Raiding only once a week for four hours maximum, our PUG downs bosses that real guilds sometimes never see. If we were a guild, we would be one of the top 5 horde guilds on our server. Most of our success can be attributed to our main tank and raid leader. He's extremely patient and very effective at getting the group organized and rolling. He's the one who collected the names of the best players he pugged with and got us all together. We all have a lot of respect and gratitude for him and for the opportunities that he's given the group as a whole. He's also the leader of the biggest guild in the raid at about half the members. Lately he has been making noise about wanting all of the raiders to join his guild. The reasons why aren't really clear to us, but for some reason he feels it's important. Cataclysm maybe? He's always tried to recruit us, but lately he's started getting... aggressive. Valafar of <The Dark Exalted> on Exodar thought this skeleton-themed ensemble looked pretty cool, right up until he was knocked unconscious by the impact of one of his flying bones on the skull helmet. Does it count as assault if you beat yourself senseless with your own femur? Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth ! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next! Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. Trial account restrictions and the 30 pe... Trial account restrictions and the 30 percent problem
02/15/2010
A few days ago, we posted on a very interesting statistic: Only 30% of all WoW trial accounts make it past level 10 . On some level, it's been assumed that this number explains why Blizzard's taking such care to smooth out the beginning game a bit, to make it easier and more fun to stick with the game past level 10 or so. In a large way, this makes sense. But there may be other reasons beyond game play in play as well. If you're picking up a trial account, chances are that you heard about it from a friend or a blog or a news report. But chances are, you were shown or described a massively armored warrior engaged in fierce hand to hand combat on the back of a dragon flying through the air, or a finely robed mage flinging a fireball at the face of the lord of all magic , or something similarly epic. With that in mind, it might justifably get discouraging to show up in game to find yourself dressed in rags, wielding a toothpick, and being sent to collect wolf pelts that inexplicably only drop off about half the wolves you kill. With that in mind, it's easy to see how a trial account user could get bored pretty fast. But for me, there's one other angle that very few people seem to be bringing up: The social angle.
