ARS: Mass Effect 2 relies heavily on dialog and story to grab gamers, but many playing the game are having problems reading the text. The problem is most acute for those with standard-definition sets or those with smaller high-definition televisions. There is a 14-page thread in the official forum with gamers complaining about the text, and we've had readers e-mailing us about the problem as well. "I can barely make out what some of the words are, even on my friend's HD TV it's nearly microscopic, very annoying," one annoyed gamer wrote. Just moments ago, we received an email from a reader notifying us that BlizzCon has been scheduled for October 22nd and 23rd at the Anaheim Convention Center. That's a Friday and a Saturday, which are historically the days of the week BlizzCon has run. As you can see above, the convention is indeed on the convention center's events calendar . We have confirmed with the Anaheim Convention Center that this booking is legit and is "99.9% confirmed," but I wouldn't run and arrange any travel plans just yet considering Las Vegas Convention Center confirmed that booking , too. We're reaching out to Blizzard for comment, and we'll let you know as soon as we hear anything else. Welcome once again my friends to the lore that never ends, we're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside Know Your Lore . Last week , we covered the events after the end of the Second War, when Ner'zhul and Teron Gorefiend led an attack on the Azerothian nations which held artifacts the former elder shaman believed he could use to open new portals on Draenor. These portals would be the salvation of the orcs who were doomed to a slow death as fel corruption slowly consumed the land. In response to the Horde of Draenor's attacks (led by Gorefiend, Kilrogg Deadeye and Kargath Bladefist) and their theft of artifacts like the Book of Medivh and Eye of Dalaran, King Terenas Menethil ordered Turalyon and Khadgar to lead an expedition beyond the Dark Portal itself to determine what the Horde had planned. This week, the Alliance Expedition takes the fight to the Horde, and we once again remind you that if you played through these events in WCII , things may have changed in the lore since. EmberIsolte 's last movie, Ninja Raiders , was certainly a hit. She's now following up with Altaholic , which is a parody of Katy Perry 's Hot 'n Cold . The video and lyrics were created by Gack and Eidni, while EmberIsolte performed the vocals. The video for this song is pretty fun, with a heavy mix of machinima techniques and gameplay footage. The lyrics for this piece do a great job fitting the music, without any of the "forced" feeling which many parodies suffer. The vocals sounded a little funny to me, but that sometimes happen when checking out a movie through YouTube. However, EmberIsolte does a pretty good job of nailing Perry's voice technique from the original song. It's nice to see Draenei surfacing as strong machinima characters. While that's not a direct commentary on movies like this, I think the choice of main character helps separate Altaholic from many of the other WoW parody pieces. In addition to the new columnists who have recently joined us, we also are starting a new Guest Writer program through Aol's Seed.com . Seed is new site designed to allow writers submit work for publication on many of the blogs Aol owns, in this case, WoW.com. (If you are interested in potentially writing for this or any other Aol site, I encourage you to set up your Seed.com account now. Seed only works for USA based writers and your real name will appear on our site.) We're going to be using Seed in a couple of different ways: We'll be tapping WoW writers around the internet to write specific posts for us. In fact, you will see two this week: one from Chris Dinwiddie (aka Graylo of Gray Matter ) and another from Richard Powell (founder of the LoreCrafted blog). We'll occasionally call out for anyone to contribute on specific topics and pick the best for publication. You may have noticed us doing one of these already! Our recent call out for tips on running random heroics received dozens of submissions and we're going through them now. For any future opportunities, keep an eye on the site or our Twitter feed -- we're aiming to call out for your content once or twice a week. And in the meantime? Don't panic if you see unfamiliar names on the site -- after all, the next name could be yours! To be crystal clear: we now have two ways of hiring writers. This is it. The final gates of Icecrown have been opened up. If you need help, we have overviews and other resources to the encounters right here . While I'd guess that the majority of us aren't exactly competing for world firsts or even server firsts, progression is still progression. I know starting out that I had my own internal expectations of where our guild would be at and we've met them. We haven't cleared out all the new bosses yet but I know with time, we will be able to. Along the way, we managed to score a few unexpected achievements. I for one didn't recall going after The Orb Whisperer . Anyway, some guilds take their progression seriously. In fact, I think there are a few out there who purposely used a lockout from the previous week just to have the extra time advantage to work on Valithria and Sindragosa. What about your raid groups? Are you happy with how you're progressing so far? Did they surpass your wildest dreams or are you discontent and think you should be further ahead? PSLS: Since its release, the PlayStation 3 has built up a reputation of being rather troublesome to develop for, with its radically different architecture causing many developers to stumble and falter on the console. As a result, many multi-platform games were initially developed for the Xbox 360 or PC before being ported over to the PS3, arguably affecting the quality of the game. Now, it is more common for developers to have no lead platform, and to separate the development of the systems to help ensure that the games are virtually the same. Sega's Sumo Digital however, decided to develop for the PS3 first and foremost when creating their highly anticipated casual racer Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing, a move that was seen as rather effective with Criterion's Burnout Paradise. Yet again the xbox version of Dante's Inferno can be downloaded via torrents a full week before official release, it begs the question.. what is happening in the Microsoft camp? This follows a string of recent multi platform games which have been leaked for xbox before any other medium.
