Siliconera: For our Record of Agarest War interview we spoke with Mike Manzanares, Producer at Aksys and Sugano Kenta, Director at Idea Factory. Manzanares outlines some of the changes in Aksys's version such as a new localization while Kenta shares his vision for the game and picks his soul breeding partner. What goals did you have in mind when developing Record of Agarest War? Sugano Kenta, Director: It wasn't a goal per se, but our focus had been always how much of its originality can be expressed through the game during the development process. Since our development process fell on the period when next-gen consoles started to hit the market, we were expected to create a high-end game, but our focus was rather the playability as a RPG game. What inspired the Soul breed system? We had always wanted to create a game in which we can express passing of eras, but we figured it'd be more interesting to add a concept of generation changes where a main character has a child and the kid has his own child when he grows up and so forth, which has developed into the current Soul Breed System. Let's just cut to the chase: we've had old gods, dragons, fallen semi-demonic elves, troll heroes, and soon the former prince of Lordaeron. Then comes the Cataclysm and we'll be looking to burn down the cthonian Deathwing himself, master of the deep places of the earth. A host of other luminaries will undoubtedly get in our way. Who would you like to see there? Who do you want to kill? For myself, I'm looking forward to breaking off a piece of Ragnaros on the slopes of Mount Hyjal, but who I really want to kill more than just about anyone is Gul'dan . Yeah, I know he's dead: so what? Do a Caverns of Time: Sargeras' Tomb and show us that Gul'dan actually almost made it out of the tomb, bloodied but unbroken and with the Eye of Sargeras in his possession, and it's up to us future Horde or Alliance players to cut the guy down before he figures out how to use it to become godlike. Because as bad as the Lich King might be, can you imagine Gul'dan with godlike power? The guy stuck his apprentices' souls into jeweled truncheons and created the first DK's just as a means to an end! Gul'dan's conscience is so non existent it makes that whole "I pulled out my own heart so I would have no weaknesses" deal sound like a cringing emo move. Gul'dan never had a heart in the first place to pull out! This was a guy who deliberately sold his entire people into demonic bloodlust because it would make them less likely to ask him questions. So yeah, I want to kill Gul'dan. Make it happen, Chromie. Send me back. I have all sorts of pointy things I'd like to introduce him to. How about you? Who do you want to kill? WoW.com has learned through sources close to the situation that after our series of posts describing some questionable internal policies at Blizzard concerning account administration and security , as well as the likely introduction of mandatory authenticators , a few of these policies have been changed this evening. First, the abilities of billing representatives to directly roll back characters to previous states has been more or less removed, preventing the onioning exploit we spoke about earlier . Account administrators still have the ability, of course, but it should prevent people from being able to game the system over the phone. We do not know if this ability will be returned when billing representatives obtain the proper training and tools. Second, the care package deal has been sweetened. We're not exactly sure how, only that it's been improved from what it was this morning. World of Raids was tracking the response to these stories on the Customer Service Forums and found a post by CSF blue Syndri detailing some specifics of the care page as it stood earlier today. We cannot be sure Syndri's post applies to the package now or not (given its changes), however it's probably safe to assume that it does. We have also learned that managers are being directed to ensure everyone is presented this care package as an optional alternative to full restoration, something we understand was not consistently happening before. Do you remember Shattrath City ? It was the busy, bustling hub of the Outland. You could fly in and out of it, pick up some awesome badge loot, and even check out a music show ? Those were the days. Of course, now, everyone's moved on to the floating city of Dalaran, and busily raiding the heck out of Arthas. Wowcrendor has revisited the abandoned stomping ground with his new video Shattrath: The Forgotten City . He's taken the time to zip back through the old town, and check in some old friends like Haris Pilton . This is pretty classic Wowcrendor material, and it definitely takes me down nostalgia lane. I remember spending hours in the place, scaring up extra raiders for a PUG Karazhan. Interested in the wide world of machinima ? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch !
